How Can I Resist?

Our tiny girl has started saying words this week!  She called me from her crib the other day with a cute little "mommy".  Sooo sweet!  Today she was saying "baby" and "hi" and "bu-bye" and "da-daee".  She says "oof" for food and a few other cute little words.

Sometimes she can be a bit of a diva.
Just a bit.
Well, maybe a lot.

But how can I resist this little baby of mine?

She is my baby.
My Caiter Gator
My Cait Bear
My Cub
My Dolly

Who am I kidding, she is all of our's.

We love her up and down all day long.  The kid gets more kisses daily than the Blarney Stone.

What a fun exclamation point at the end of 10 years of sweet baby blessings!

Okay, off to bed.
Rambling about my kiddos on the blog at 2 in the morning is probably not the best use of my time:)

Potatoes Taste Best Fresh From The Garden!

We harvested our potatoes!

Some were tiny!!  I guess we could have waited a while but they weren't green and the plants were shadowing the rest of the garden so they had to be taken out!!

Wow!  Look at those tasty potatoes!  The grey one is the seed...root...?  hmm, not sure what you call that?  We didn't eat that one:)

We really enjoyed our yukon potatoes.  Next year we will plant them on the hill so they don't take over our cute little garden.  I heard you can grow potatoes almost anywhere!

Today each of the kids got to eat a strawberry out of the garden.  I didn't get any photos but it was a very exciting moment!!

Ribbon Necklaces

I found these fantastic beads and had to do something fun with them!  I had seen the idea for a ribbon necklace a few years ago in a blog tutorial and I have been waiting for the right inspiration to make my own version.

I put a whole bunch of the finished necklaces on Caiter-gater and she was very interested in her pretties:)

Pretty pretty!

Did you make this for me Mommy?

Pretty girl, pretty necklaces.  What a satisfying weekend!

A Day At The Water Park

All the cousins snacking.  The kids always swarm when the food comes out!

Caleb riding Ethan's scooter.  First time riding in the skate park!  He was loving it!!

ETHAN: "okay your turn is up"
CALEB "no, your mom didn't say my turn was up"
ETHAN "ya she did"
CALEB: "no!"
ETHAN: "ya!"

(typical discussion:)

Girly girl following her brother around the skate park!

Photo shoot with Emily.  Aren't they cute together??  Emily's Mommy is Lawana (sister of Jason...Jason is married to Tammy, sister of Mike...husband to me...that makes these two little girls second cousins or something like that...we just call them cousins!)

Three big girls having fun at the park.

The Garden Is Growing!

Apparently our thumbs are a little bit green.  Our garden is looking great.  I am really happy with the outcome as this is the first time we have attempted any gardening.  Here is Mailee harvesting some Romaine lettuce.  The red cabbage leaves have lots of holes.  we are open to suggestions about that:)

These are our peas.  Next year I will plant them in a row with a better structure for them to grow up.  Again, taking suggestions!!

We were all so thrilled when the lettuce grew back after we harvested the first batch.  So incredible!!

Maddie likes to water the garden:)

Mike and Mikayla with the bountiful harvest...free salad is a great thing!!

Market Season

The blog has been completely neglected because I have been so busy with the Farmer's Market.  Last year we only braved the Market on Wednesdays when it was less busy and not quite so intense.  This year I have tried going on Saturday which has meant getting in line way before the sun rises.  Yikes!  I am not sure how many of those early mornings this night owl can handle:)

Above is a photo of sweet Mailee in front of our spot.

Items of note:
-those are the flags from Cait's party!
-this year I have "walls" to hang the bows on courtesy of Rhino Chiropractic:)
-the table is holding a new little experiment.  I made a bunch of felt masks for boys.  The girls made bean bags and wands and necklaces and keychains
-the masks flew off the table. (sold quickly, not blew away:)  I was surprised and pleased that they went over so well!
-the tent next to us was that of a magic palm reader...BOOO!

This is the first market we did this year.  The set up gets a little better everytime.  The flags really made a difference)

There's that palm reader again!   NOT a fan of being next to him!

I had lots of people asking what I was selling. {really?} I decided to make a few posters of some of my favourite pictures of kids with bows and flowers to eliminate the question.  It's fun when a kid sees their photo on the board!

The market has been a great opportunity for me to spend time with the two big girls.  They seem to enjoy themselves and they are thrilled to earn a bit of cash.  I just love being with them and being able to focus on the two of them.  They are growing into such big girls!

Celebrating the USA in CANADA

Happy 4th of July from all of us!

Here is our 4th in photos...

Caleb "cheese-ing" for the camera...Notice the cute place cards and lovely table settings?  The girls did that all on their own.

We enjoyed some amazing Tri- tip, stuffed turkey and a bunch of delicious salads...

I provided some berries, yogurt, whipped cream and coconut...

My fabulous {Canadian} mother-in-law made this awesome red white and blue pie...

Pies+flag plates=patriotic:)

My party decorator for the evening.

Caiter-tot shaking a patriotic stick.

It was a great day.  I hope yours was too!

Canada Day 2010

Yesterday was Canada day.  If you live in the States, did you realise that?  I never did until I married a Canadian!  Anyways, the kids were happy to sport their red and white and they even look semi happy to be posing for my photo. (their Daddy, standing behind me, may or may not have been quite as thrilled to stop in the middle of the sidewalk to do this:)

After a long relaxing day of bike rides, crafts, gardening and even a visit with an Aunty, we headed out to the Olympia Greek Taverna for dinner with all the Banmans.  Don and Linda have a new student living with them named Michelle and it was her birthday!

My only photo from the restaurant.  Beautiful Meghan holding Cait.  It was major tag team with the baby.  She was on fire.  She was cranky and acting like princess of the palace!

We watched the fireworks from the hill by our house, across the lake from downtown.  All the kids were asleep except for Mailee.  Our little night owl.   I guess I need a different lens to capture fireworks from far away and perhaps a bit more knowledge about my camera:)

Oh but here's something I am good at capturing.  The little people!  I love them!

Happy Canada Day!! {one day late} Go hug a Canadian!
