Christmas Eve and the Worshipping Sheep

Through Creator's, Mikayla got the opportunity to be a part of the Christmas Eve services at Trinity Church.  She had a fantastic time being a part of a big production.  They had 6 services in all along with many rehearsals.  She has had quite a few opportunities to dance outside the studio this year and she loves it! This one was great practice in front of a HUGE crowd:) Here are a few of the church's photographs...( couldn't resist posting these because they are great quality and I have been resorting to iphone pics so much these days!)

They were sheep and the song was "it's a baby" to the tune of "call me maybe".

Dance Show 2012

Tonight was the year end dance show for Creators.

Caity got her first curls for the show!

I still haven't finished posting pictures from our trip to Colorado but I can't help myself, I have to share the dance pics!!

One of my favourite parts about the dance show is volunteering to work backstage.

I love helping my girls and their friends to get ready and I love to see the whole show come together from an insider's perspective.

 This year I wasn't able to take pictures from the audience so there are no pictures of the actual show.

I'm so thrilled that the girls love to dance. The studio has an awesome vision and so many great people attached to it.  Such a blessing.

A Christian dance studio was a nice idea when Mikayla was 4 and I wanted to see her in a tutu. I had no idea how long my girls would dance and how wonderful it would be to have them at a studio that cares about helping the girls grow in character and relationships, makes sure their music is tasteful and the costumes are beautiful and modest.

We love Creators!!

Grandma Bev came for the dance show weekend!

She even hung out backstage during the dress rehearsal and helped with mending.

I have a feeling that after tonight she will be hooked on coming to their dance shows:)

 Mikayla ended up willing an award for her hard work and positive attitude.

Dance Show 2011

I'm still kinda riding high from the last two days.

My favourite event of the year is the Creator's dance recital.

I love watching my girls dance, I love helping backstage, I love the costumes, the music, the excitement...the photos!

Mikayla was the only girl who danced this year.

She loves it and this year I could see all the years of dancing are paying off.

When they are little it's so cute to just see them dressed up on the stage but now that she is older, their skill level, stage presence and confidence all come in to play

The night before the dress rehearsal I made some flowers for the girls...I couldn't help myself.

I have issues.

The year we moved here from California I signed Mikayla up for baby ballet (3 year olds).  We met these girls and their moms at dance.  They were our first friends in Kelowna.  I treasured those one day per week dance classes, a chance for something social.  Here we are 7 years later, same girls, same moms.  {I should have gotten a photo of the moms!!}

This year Mikayla tried hip hop.

She's in the middle.

Fun to see her do something new.

Pretty sure she won't be doing it again.

We shall see.

Just Beachy

This weekend we had a little fun at the beach.  We are all really glad to have some sun and warm weather!

Busy day a the beach?  Not really, that's just our kids taking up the whole shoreline:)

Cuteness comes easy for our little baby bear!  After a few hours at the beach, I had learned something new about Cait: she really likes the sticks.  Rocks and sand were appealing too but the sticks were her favorite.

I should be up and running pretty soon.  School ends this week and then I should have less driving and more blogging to do!  Yay!

This is my first post made from my new MacbookPro!  Yippee, I love it so much!  It is so easy to use and all around fabulous.  Mike was nice enough to decide it was time for me to get my dream computer. What a guy!  I really like him and his really great ideas!

One of these days I'll have to tell you about my new "job" that I will be taking on this fall.  I'll give you a hint, it will require a lot less driving and a lot more time with my kidlets...  I am so excited but I can't type it all out tonight so stay tuned friends:)
