Market Season

The blog has been completely neglected because I have been so busy with the Farmer's Market.  Last year we only braved the Market on Wednesdays when it was less busy and not quite so intense.  This year I have tried going on Saturday which has meant getting in line way before the sun rises.  Yikes!  I am not sure how many of those early mornings this night owl can handle:)

Above is a photo of sweet Mailee in front of our spot.

Items of note:
-those are the flags from Cait's party!
-this year I have "walls" to hang the bows on courtesy of Rhino Chiropractic:)
-the table is holding a new little experiment.  I made a bunch of felt masks for boys.  The girls made bean bags and wands and necklaces and keychains
-the masks flew off the table. (sold quickly, not blew away:)  I was surprised and pleased that they went over so well!
-the tent next to us was that of a magic palm reader...BOOO!

This is the first market we did this year.  The set up gets a little better everytime.  The flags really made a difference)

There's that palm reader again!   NOT a fan of being next to him!

I had lots of people asking what I was selling. {really?} I decided to make a few posters of some of my favourite pictures of kids with bows and flowers to eliminate the question.  It's fun when a kid sees their photo on the board!

The market has been a great opportunity for me to spend time with the two big girls.  They seem to enjoy themselves and they are thrilled to earn a bit of cash.  I just love being with them and being able to focus on the two of them.  They are growing into such big girls!

A Bow Contest

I keep saying I am too busy to make bows and I am going to take a break from my little side business Fig & Ruby Kids.  Really, I have been saying this for a few years now!  I am not sure why but I just can't stop making fun hair accessories!  I do know that whenever I come across a photo of a little girl (or a grown up girl for that matter) wearing one of my little pretties, I get excited and feel a sudden urge to plug in my glue gun.

Can you tell your friends about Fig & Ruby Kids?  I have a page on Facebook and I am currently holding a contest.  Suggest my page to your friends and I will enter your name in a draw to win $10 Ruby Cash!  Let me know that you suggested the page by leaving me a comment here or on the wall of the page on Facebook.  If you want to take it further, you can earn 5 contest entries by writing a post about Fig & Ruby Kids on your blog.  Just be sure to let me know you did it so I can add your entries!

I am also adding your name for every photo that you email me of your kiddies in their bows/flowers.  I really love to see my creations in action.  Don't be shy, send as many as you have!

Thanks for your support!

Starting Her Young

Caitlyn is looking adorable in her hairbows and we are loving her in them!
My babies do not grow hair for over a year. With the other girls, I patiently waited for piggies to put bows in. With Mailee, I had to wait 3 years before she had enough hair! Well folks, this time I am not waiting. I've been on the other side, I know how short the bow wearing years really are. I am not wasting a moment!

If you are in need of hairbows, send me an email! I make them and sell them and I'd be glad to hook you up with some fabulous bows. Check out the BOWS HERE!

Thinking about Hairbows...

I have rekindled my love for making hair bows. I can't stop, really. There are piles in some stage of creation all over my house! I am dreaming about them in my sleep!
I guess it is partly because I know I have another little girl coming into our family... I see no end in sight for bow-wearing in my household!! I think it is also because it's such a fun creative outlet and I LOVE seeing them on little heads around town!!!

Today I am just contemplating my next step on the bow front. Packaging, new products, marketing... hmmm...lovely Friday thoughts!

polka dots never get old!!!!!!!

the new "sheer collection"

UM...can you stand it???

This is Caitlyn's first swimsuit...and her matching bow (I will need to make a headband or sun hat to attach the bow to because knowing my newborns, she will not have any hair:)

Bows for an upcoming wedding order!
