Insta-Friday

The last two weeks have flown by as we have been plugging away at school.

I've been teetering between "super organized school teacher nazi mom" and "major flexible, relaxed, go with the flow mom".

I don't really like the sound of my voice as the nazi but I don't like the confusion that comes with the latter.

Trying to find that middle ground that works for our family.

Anyways, here's our last two weeks thru the lens of my trusty i phone.

Caity announced that her baby was hungry so she was "nursin".

Cambria is exploring the wonderful world of the upright.
I captured one of her first standing attempts and the very proud face she made once she plopped back down.

Caleb and Caitlyn got new rain boots.
So great to have shoes for those two that I do not have to help with!!

We've stepped it up on the health front.
This is an ongoing process for me.
I must confess I struggle with the amount of time it takes to prepare the kind of food that I (and Mike) would like our family to eat.
{I need a stunt double to pull it off!}

But I know it's worth it so I am doing my best to continually eliminate things that are harmful for us to eat and add things that are beneficial.

All this to say, this week we made mini onion quiches and they were AMAZING!

In more effort to make cooking fun,
{I'd rather use a glue gun than a spatula}
I got these fabulous glass jars and filled one with cocoa powder and one with our grass fed cow whey protein powder.  The third jar is chia seeds.
Pretty, yes?

Cambria our baby birdy!

The girls hosted a little Valentines craft party and made some adorable Valentines.
{I'll let them share the details}

Cambria got a sticker at Natures Fare.
Her first one.
So cute:)

Caiters continues to wow us with her spunky personality!!

Cambi is very interested in anything she can do herself.
uh oh.
I can see whats happening.
Another intense kid.
Go figure!?!?

Mike and I are reading this amazing book about tooth decay.
Mind blowing.
Completely inspiring.
Another reason to care about what I feed myself and the rest of my family.
WOW.

The kids love visiting the library for story time.
This week we had some extra friends!

The crafts continue.
If we got graded only in the arts, we would get A's all around!!
Can you guess what book this project of Mailee's is about?

Little lady exercising her new-found mobility.
She is exploring things at new heights...

...And getting into a bit of trouble along the way!

My favourite moment this week was on Thursday when Mike sat down to do a science lesson with the kids.
He was teaching them anatomy.
{Beginning with the nervous system of course.}
His voice was sweet and excitable and they were enthralled with the information and the time spent with Daddy learning together.

Such a good man.

This week the dance studio stepped up their policies on hair.
Mikayla's whole class got a lesson in how to make a bun properly.
She taught me.
Here's our first attempt.
This photo struck me because the girls look so much alike.
Maddie is on the right and Mikayla on the left.

Sporting my Grandma's cameo.
One of my favourite earthly possessions.

Cambria trying out my second grain-free muffin attempt this week.
Cinnamon bun muffins.
{I modified Elana's recipe by using coconut oil and maple syrup instead of grapeseed oil and agave.  I also skipped the frosting}
Yum.
{first ones were apple/cheddar and also quite good}

How do you balance all the things that your life requires on an hourly/daily/weekly basis?
I always love to hear how others do it!?!?!?!
